Join us for Awakening II: Fieldwork, an all-day arts experience that actively engages the outdoor spaces of 1630 Meeting. Last year, we challenged artists to awaken the building using its vacant rooms, walls and hallways as their inspiration. This year, we’re breaking out of the bricks and mortar framework into the adjacent outdoor spaces, allowing artists only two days to transform the site before this one day event on June 14.
So join Enough Pie and the participants listed below as we awaken the fields, foliage, porches and pavement of 1630 Meeting…

Calling all creators and collaborators…
Enough Pie invites you to submit a proposal for Awakening II: Fieldwork, an all-day arts experience that actively engages the outdoor spaces of 1630 Meeting. Last year, we challenged you to awaken the building using its vacant rooms, walls and hallways as your inspiration. This year, we’re breaking out of the bricks and mortar framework into the adjacent outdoor spaces, encouraging participants to engage with the natural landscape and building exterior as their structural guide. Fieldwork calls for the creative use and reinterpretation of nearly all outdoor elements at 1630 Meeting.
So…from the foliage & fences to the porches & pavement, how would you awaken the site?
PROPOSALS:
- Creative projects of any size or scale are welcome. From performances to installations, and anything in between, use your imagination!
- Partnerships across disciplines are encouraged.
- All participants will also have the opportunity to meet on site two weeks before the event to share proposals and ideas for collaboration.
- Strong consideration will be given to proposals that represent the culture and voice of the upper peninsula.
