Meet the Artist of Awakening XI: Underground

Join us for Meet the Artist featuring Kianté Habersham of Kalianna.Arts LLC, as we unveil and discuss the Awakening XI: Underground concept, logo, and first-ever event poster at Lowcountry Local First. The talk is free and open to the public.

Kalianna.Arts LLC is owned by Kianté Habersham, a full-time traveling creative, Native to Charleston, SC. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Graphic and Web Design from the Art Institute of Charleston. Her work has been showcased at two galleries in Downtown Charleston and she has participated in major performing arts festivals such as Spoleto and The North Charleston Arts Fest. Her Avant-garde jewelry has also been featured in The Charleston Fashion Week Show.

Kalianna.Arts is a Black Queer Woman-owned creative small business that specializes in fine art, mixed media, and digital art. They provide branding, advertising, and collateral for businesses. They also create jewelry infused with high energy using grounding elements such as crystals, metals, stones, and local shells under their jewelry line called Jewels.By.Kalianna. This summer, look out for their new apparel line that features wearable art from the artist herself.

She says that “Art plays a huge role in her life; whether it’s music, culinary, photography, painting, creating, or illustration. Her mother has a passion for culinary and her father is a graphic designer, music producer, and celebrity photographer, which is where she inherited all her talents. She caters more to the contemporary side of art due to its freedom of expression. Her creations reflect a Contemporary/Afrocentric style that allows her audience to relate to her on an artistic and personal level.

She uses her art as an instrument to portray her emotions and perception of everyday life. With the love, guidance, and support from her ancestors, she is capable of doing anything and being whoever she wants to be at any given minute.”
