Art UP: Deadline May 29

Up to 2 individual artists will be awarded up to $1,000 to make a creative idea a reality in the upper peninsula (UP) for implementation summer/fall 2015.

ABOUT ART UP! THE ENOUGH PIE COMMUNITY PRIZE

We believe the best ideas for a community come from those most passionate about its future. This cycle of the Enough Pie Community Grants, in partnership with If You Were Mayor, offers two microgrants designed to directly contribute to the creative vitality of Charleston, particularly in the upper peninsula.

With two awards of up to $1000 per prize, Enough Pie is seeking creative ideas submitted online by May 29 at If You Were Mayor for high-impact, low-cost projects with arts and culture at the core. We encourage applicants to approach creativity from a broad perspective and consider lasting impact.

The best 10 ideas will be selected to submit a grant providing your specific idea, budget, project team, final timeline and more (approximately 600 words total for complete prize proposal so the access to entry is attainable).

TIMELINE:

SEED MONEY (Now – May 29)

Submit your creative idea on IYWM from now – May 29. Your creative idea should have artistic roots and further community engagement. It should be fully implementable for no more than $1K.

GRANT SUBMISSION (May 29 – June 10)

The top 10 ideas will be chosen and their creators will be asked to submit a simple proposal through Enough Pie’s online portal (deadline June 10). This on-line submission will take approximately 1-2 hours to complete and include a 150 word explanation of how will you use the arts and creative placemaking to further community engagement on the upper peninsula, your goals and objectives, and how you arrived at your project budget, if you are enlisting volunteers, and a timeline. We also ask the question: why should your project be funded above others?
